The Santa Barbara International Film Festival (SBIFF) has announced the participants for the 2013 10-10-10 Student Filmmaking and Screenwriting Competition, and Brooks film student Mia Bolton is among the five college-level finalists who will take on a daunting challenge: to produce a 10-minute short film in 10 days.

Launched by SBIFF in 2004, the 10-10-10 Student Filmmaking Competition is designed to bring together student filmmakers and industry professionals in an effort to encourage and assist the next generation of filmmakers. For the competition, the five film finalists are matched with a screenplay from one of the five screenwriting finalists. Each team must then recruit a crew and produce a 10-minute film during the 10 days of the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

The festival, now in its 28th year, will run from Jan. 24 – Feb. 3, 2013. We wish good luck to Mia and all the participants!
