Rich Fortinberry earned an AB in Communication from the University of Michigan in 1984 and an MFA in Cinema and Television from the University of Southern California in 2001. He earned an MBA from the University Of Michigan School Of Business Administration in 1989. Rich is currently Program Chair of the BFA in Film program at Brooks Institute.

He has extensive producing and directing credits, including national television commercials, television pilots, and corporate projects. He also worked at Creative Artists Agency. Rich teaches directing, producing and cinematography and is a portfolio mentor for advanced projects shot in major film and digital formats.

Prior to joining the faculty at Brooks, Rich taught directing and cinematography at the USC School of Cinematic Arts in three programs: the Graduate Writing Program, the Peter Stark Producing Program, and the undergraduate Production Program. Before beginning his film production career, Rich worked as a management consultant for a variety of corporate clients, including the General Electric Company.
