Claudia Hoag McGarry earned an AA in Interdisciplinary Studies from Los Angeles Valley College in 1977 and her BA in History from the University of California Santa Cruz in 1979. She received her teaching credentials at San Jose State University and UCLA.
She has her lifetime community college teaching credential in Basic Education as well as an adult education credential and multiple subjects credential in general education, and she is one of Brooks Institute’s two Learning Specialists who also teaches English in the Liberal Arts Department.
She has been at Brooks Institute since 2006.
Claudia is especially interested in helping students with their basic reading and writing skills as these pertain to writing in the film and media occupations. She is the daughter of two authors, has penned and published two novels herself (“My Scorpio Soul” and “My Aries Secrets”) and is also the author of several screenplays.
