Brooks Institute Campuses

Brooks Institute is located within the communities of Santa Barbara and Ventura, California, where you will find breathtaking beaches, picturesque mountains and vibrant cultures that can inspire your creativity and passion for visual arts.

Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara

In Santa Barbara, we have two facilities that house our MFA in Photography and BFA in Professional Photography programs:

The Mason Street Campus is a three-story industrial building ideal for studio work. It is housed within the “Funk Zone”, a creative community of artists, surf shops, wine bars, entertainment, design firms, and restaurants that is considered a one-of-a-kind destination for visitors to and residents of Santa Barbara. The Mason Street campus houses the equipment check-out facility where students can reserve cameras, lenses, lights and other equipment to assist with the completion of their assignments. The campus also houses the faculty, administrative, and admissions offices as well as financial aid, academic affairs, counseling services, accounting, career services, the library, classrooms and faculty offices.

The Cota Street Campus occupies three floors in a learning center and consists of classrooms, digital labs, faculty and staff offices, a large public gallery (Gallery 27), and our IT office.

Ventura

Ventura

On the Ventura Campus, Brooks Institute houses its baccalaureate programs in Film, Graphic Design and Visual Journalism.

Formerly a motion picture studio, the campus is set on eight acres complete with a movie backlot set, large sound stages, a screening room, digital video editing studios, and a post-production facility, as well as graphic design computer labs and studios. The Ventura campus houses faculty and administrative offices and offers services such as counseling, financial aid, academic affairs, admissions, accounting, career services and the library.
